Victoria Senkpiel cofounded one of the world’s biggest online beauty subscription services, Glossybox, which delivers hand-picked products to hundreds of thousands of homes each month. Based in Stockholm, she now works as a haute footwear designer for her own self-named shoe brand while remaining Managing Director for Glossybox in the Nordics. In this episode she discusses the challenges of disrupting the cosmetics industry, why she has put dating on hold in order to fulfil her dreams and her mission to use fashion and beauty products to empower women around the world.

In this episode Victoria answers questions including

  • How did you first persuade beauty companies to work with Glossybox?
  • What was it about the Swedish market that made Glossybox so successful there?
  • How did you handle having to close in other markets?
  • How do you deal with negative feedback?
  • You’ve lived all over the world, why did you become a Stockholmer?
  • How do you hold a senior role at Glossybox and run your own shoe label?

Our favourite quote from Victoria:

I believe that all products that have a positive effect on how you feel are good for society, but it’s you yourself who has to make a decision about what it is you think is right for you to feel good”
